Normanton Town Council
Your primary level authority in Normanton, Altofts & district, is Normanton Town Council.
Normanton has a population of around 21,000 residents & has many local business' both retail & commercial on the High Street & Market Place areas & wharehouse/distribution & manufacturing on the surrounding industrial parks. The easily accessible road & rail links make it an ideal location for all. Normanton is a small market town & has a unique High Street & Market experience, with both local family shops & national chain stores.
Normanton Town Councils 22 members represent the local interests of the town, residents, business, visitors & surrounding rural areas. Their major roles include planning & transport, allotments & parks, the market, road safety, community centres, annual gala week & local Christmas celebrations. The councils engagement & involvement with other local interest groups is a key part of it's many & varied roles.
The Town Council are always keen to hear from local people & organisations & can be contacted both as individual members, or as council, as a whole. Town Council meetings are held every month, currently 2nd Tuesday of the month, except August, at 6:30pm, in the Town Hall, High Street, Normanton.
